Congress Statistics 2008 - We're number 1, thanks to you!

Once again, Mondial Congress & Events is listed as number 1 in the Viennese meetings statistic published annually  by Vienna Convention Bureau. Last year, Mondial Congress & Events published 25 congresses in Vienna alone, which amounts to a 35% share.

In general, Vienna's meetings industry  recorded more than 3200 congresses and company events with a total of 1,2 million overnight stays. Despite a rise in the number of events, the number of overnight stays has decreased. This is partly a result of the European Football Championship, but also of a decrease in the duration of congresses in combination with an — on average — lower number of participants.

2009 looks to be a very good year for Mondial Congress & Events indeed. Apart from several major  international congresses like ECR, EFORT, ICAD and EASD, a number of national congresses will — as is tradition — be organised in Vienna  by Mondial Congress & Events as well.
